Ill-Health Retirement Assessment and Report

We are familiar with a range of private and public sector pension schemes, including the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), Teachers' and Universities Superannuation Pension Schemes, Civil Service Pensions Scheme (CSPS), Railway Pensions Scheme and NHS Pensions.

Generally, individuals are keen to remain at work for a combination of reasons. For them, ill-health retirement (IHR) is the last resort because their illness prevents them from remaining at work anymore, or the employer is unable to offer suitable workplace adjustments to help them remain at work.  If you are an active or deferred member of an occupational pension scheme and want to apply for IHR, your employer should facilitate your application and arrange an occupational health (OH) assessment with their OH service provider. However, sometimes, you may wish to seek a second opinion from another expert. An expert consultant occupational physician report from us will help you decide whether to apply for IHR, and may strengthen your IHR application. We can advise on whether your health circumstances are likely to fulfil the IHR criteria only after reviewing the available medical evidence and undertaking an assessment.

If you wish to self-refer, please complete the enquiry form given at the following link: Self-referral form

Once we receive your referral, we will contact you to seek further details. We will need to review relevant documents such as previous occupational health reports, letters or reports from your GP and hospital specialists and other relevant paperwork before offering you a video consultation appointment. Generally, we are able to provide you with a comprehensive report within one week following the consultation appointment.

Our fee will depend on the reason for self-referral and the volume of relevant paperwork.  We will inform you about our charges beforehand, and if you decide to proceed, we will then send you an invoice.

Please refer to our terms and conditions.
