Pre-employment or Pre-placement Medical

The purpose of a pre-employment or placement health screening is to assess the individual's medical fitness for work, determine whether any reasonable adjustments may be required to accommodate any disability or medical impairment and ensure that none of the duties of the job will adversely affect any pre-existing health conditions.


Most of the pre-employment or pre-placement medical screening can be done by using a health questionnaire but some may require further assessment such as telephone or face-to-face occupational health assessment and/or getting additional medical evidence from their doctor.

COVID-19 and Occupational Health assessments

We continue to do occupational health assessments and health surveillance using health questionnaires and remote (telephone or video) consultations during the current COVID-19 pandemic. We have also resumed limited face-to-face clinics at Lincoln, Mansfield, Nottingham and Sheffield and referrals for face-to-face consultations will be assessed on a case by case basis.
