Quality Assurance and Clinical Audit in Occupational Health
Clinical audit is a quality improvement process that aims to improve the quality of patient care. It is a viral element of quality management in occupational health practice and part of clinical governance. It involves checking whether best practice is being followed and if there are shortfalls in the delivery of care making improvements. A full audit cycle is more than benchmarking performance against a standard but any deficiencies, in structure or process or poor outcomes, require an action plan to improve.
